Accomplished Architect and Sustainability Design Expert Chris Garvin Joins The UrsaLeo Advisory Board

Board addition will allow UrsaLeo to explore IoT and cloud-based alternatives for existing Building Energy Management Systems and to expand technology offerings

San Francisco — April 17, 2019 — UrsaLeo, an enterprise-grade, cloud-based industrial IoT platform for manufacturing, today announced that Chris Garvin, accomplished architect and sustainability design expert, has joined the UrsaLeo advisory board. With more than 20 years of experience, Chris will help UrsaLeo offer Building Energy Management Systems using open standards that work with any hardware.

Since moving to New York in 1998, Chris has focused on sustainable design with both Croxton Collaborative and Cook+Fox Architects. Chris joined Bill Browning and Bob Fox in 2006 to form Terrapin Bright Green, a strategic sustainability consulting firm dedicated to the rapid transformation of our built environment to create a healthy and sustainable world. Chris served as the managing partner and project lead for many of Terrapin’s engagements until departing in 2017. His clients included Google, Interface Carpet, Starwood Hotels, and multiple developers and real estate firms around the world. Chris lectures frequently on sustainable design and has taught at the Pratt Institute and Carnegie Mellon. He also advises several organizations on sustainability issues, including the National Building Museum, Urban Green Council, and the New York Academy of Sciences.
