In the telecommunications space we work with tower providers to provide digital twins of their structures for a number of use cases. The goal is to increase sales, reduce maintenance costs and maximize tower placement efficiency to deliver the best possible experience to cell phone customers.

Increasing sales. Tower operators lease antenna space to cell phone operators, so enabling salespeople to display twins of towers in accurate geospatial surrounds, take measurements and show RF propagation data while in front of their customer is a huge step.

Reducing maintenance costs. All data about a tower is captured in the digital twin. Antennas are color coded by operator so ownership can be determined at a glance. Documents, assets, maintenance and even IoT data can be interrogated using generative AI to simplify information retrieval. When digital twins are used to streamline maintenance we typically see a 20% reduction in costs.

Optimizing tower placement. We can offer RF signal analytics in real time, using ray tracing techniques to accurately model reflections. We pull in a huge amount of geospatial data to drive the analysis, perform it in seconds and then display the results in 3D on the surroundings of the twin.
